How does the MobileGo mobile welding fume extractor work?
The compact MobileGo is an entry-level welding fume extractor. The unit has a filter surface area of 161.5 ft² and comes with the EconomyArm extraction arm. This arm is easy to position exactly where needed. The EconomyArm can extend up to 10 ft and rotates 360 degrees.
The MobileGo operates with a recirculation system. The built-in fan draws welding fumes through the hood of the connected extraction arm. The contaminated air first passes through a pre-filter cartridge and is then further cleaned by a HEPA filter cartridge. The filtered air is returned to the workspace through the exhaust grille at the back of the unit.
Both filter cartridges can be easily replaced by the user.
Reliable and high-quality entry-level model
The MobileGo is Plymovent's most affordable entry-level welding fume extractor, making no compromises on safety or quality. It fully complies with all relevant standards and filter classifications (E12 main filter and W3-compliant). This makes the MobileGo a highly reliable extraction solution for occasional or light welding tasks.
The MobileGo is ideal for this occasional, light use: the saturation filters last a long time with light use, keeping total operating costs low. For more intensive or daily use, you can use a filter unit with a larger filter capacity (such as the MobileGoplus) or a system with a self-cleaning filter (such as the MobilePro) to achieve the best efficiency.
Frequently Asked Questions about the
MobileGo Welding Fume Extractor
What type of welding is the MobileGo suitable for?
The MobileGo is designed for lighter welding processes such as TIG welding or for heavier welding processes that you perform occasionally, such as MIG/MAG, FCAW and electrode/MMAW, and for welding steel and stainless steel.
Where can I use MobileGo?
In workshops with varying, sometimes difficult-to-reach welding locations. At welding sites in the metal industry, automotive/garages, and agricultural sectors, and in technical (welding) schools.
Can I use the MobileGo for extraction during grinding?
Yes, the MobileGo is suitable for extracting fumes and dust during light grinding work or while finishing metal products (steel or stainless steel). You cannot use the MobileGo when grinding aluminum or magnesium.
Can I use the MobileGo for extraction during polishing?
Yes, but not in combination with metalworking processes that generate sparks. Polishing fibers and flap disc material are highly flammable. Combined with sparks, this can lead to a filter fire.
What can I NOT use the MobileGo for?
- Extraction during metalworking processes that generate sparks: this can cause filter fires
- In aluminum laser cutting
- When grinding aluminum and
- In case of welding fumes with heavy oil mist
- In arc gouging
- When extracting aggressive fumes and gases (e.g. from acids, alkaline, lithium-containing solder paste)
- When extracting hot gases (continuously higher than 158°F)
- When extracting flame spray guns
- When extracting cement, sawdust, wood chips, etc.
- Picking up cigarettes, cigars, tissues or other flammable particles, objects or acids
- In all situations where explosions can occur; with explosive substances/gases
How well does the MobileGo filter work?
The MobileGo has two filters. The pre-filter first captures coarser particles, extending the life of the second HEPA filter. This built-in filter cartridge removes up to 99.5% of all harmful particles (smaller than 0.3 micrometers) from the air.
What benefits does the MobileGo mobile welding fume extractor offer you as a welder?
A guarantee of almost 100% clean air in your work environment. This significantly reduces your risk of headaches, fatigue, or difficulty concentrating during your workday. You'll be fitter, more productive, and less likely to get sick. You'll also have a lower risk of irreversible long-term health risks, such as chronic bronchitis, reduced lung function, asthma, risk of lung cancer, accelerated cognitive decline, and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke, and dementia.
Is the MobileGo suitable for continuous use?
No, this filter unit is intended for light and occasional use, for example when you use a maximum of one spool of solid welding wire or 16.5 lb of welding electrodes per month.
For heavier welding processes you can choose the MobileGoplus, the MobilePro or a stationary extraction unit.
Are the filters in the MobileGo reusable or replaceable?
The MobileGo has disposable filters: a pre-filter cartridge and a HEPA filter cartridge. You can easily replace these yourself.
How do I know when to replace a filter?
The MobileGo has a maintenance indicator and an audible alarm that indicate when a filter needs to be replaced.
What is the difference between the MobileGo and the MobileGo Plus?
The MobileGo Plus has a filter with 75% more surface area and is suitable for more intensive welding processes compared to the lighter MobileGo. The MobileGo Plus has a robust metal extraction arm. The MobileGo has a plastic hose arm.
More information can be found here , on the MobileGo Plus product page.
Does the MobileGo meet safety standards?
Yes, the MobileGo is W3 compliant and meets the strict European safety standards for welding fume extraction. All certificates can be found under the Certification tab.
How quickly will the MobileGo be delivered?
The MobileGo is in stock and will be delivered free of charge within 3 to 5 business days. Returns are accepted according to our standard return policy (unused and in original packaging, shipping costs are the responsibility of the sender).
